Embarking on Your Encore Career: I'd Love to Hear from You

The opportunity to find deeper powers within ourselves comes when life seems most challenging. ~Joseph Campbell
I like to shake things up from time to time to keep life interesting, so I figure it’s time to shake the blog up a bit.
In my most recent postings, I’ve encouraged you to adjust your attitude about age, shift your perspective about retirement, and stretch outside your comfort zone as you explore what’s next for you. I’ve explained why it’s important to take the time to discover what you really want to be doing before you leap into the nuts and bolts of getting a job or starting your own business, or jumping at whatever is right in front of you.
I’ve also shared some simple – yet powerful – exercises for helping you figure out what you want, uncover what you value most at this time in your life, and define your expertise. And, hopefully, I’ve inspired you with stories of real life people (including me) who have been where you are now. People who faced the fear of the unknown, and are thriving in their new lives, happier than they’ve been in years.
So, now it’s your turn. What’s your greatest challenge you’re having right now around discovering your encore career?
Perhaps you’re having trouble imagining how work might fit into the kind of life you want to be living now. Maybe you can’t see the many opportunities that are available to you, or the countless paths an encore career might take. Or maybe you just need some more internal work (i.e. building your confidence or becoming more resilient). You may simply need some support in saying goodbye to your “old” life.
Whatever it is, I want to know. Really! So, what’s the greatest challenge you’re having right now with the journey towards discovering your encore career?
Please share your challenges with me. I would love to hear from you!
